Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk
Did you know that 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop breast cancer over the course of her lifetime?
It’s why every year, we do our part to raise awareness and funds to save lives from breast cancer. We do this by participating in the American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The event is a total of 3 miles – but it’s not about competition. It brings everyone together to walk side by side, and is brimming with encouragement, cheers, and support along the way – complete with a special survivor area for survivors and their caregivers.
Every year since 2015, our very own survivor and customer service superstar, Jamie Kinion, leads the effort and inspires her teammates to join her in the fight.
Today, thousands of people gathered at Keehi Lagoon Beach Park to walk and HIC raised $700 that will go towards funding research, providing free information and support services, and helping detect the disease early when it’s easiest to treat.
Together, we can make a difference and help ensure that no one dealing with a breast cancer diagnosis will walk alone.
