Hawaii.gov Wins Third W3 Award

The winners of the 17th Annual W3 Awards have been announced by the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts and Hawaii.gov, the official website of the Aloha State, received a Silver Award in the government category.

Serving as the official website for the State of Hawaii, Hawaii.gov makes it easy to find information curated for government, business, residents and visitors. The most popular page is a comprehensive list of all 120+ online government services offered throughout the state and counties. Other highly requested areas include a feed of the latest government news, a directory of all departments, agencies and state officials, a public meeting calendar and weather alerts.

Work on Hawaii.gov was completed by NIC Hawaii in collaboration with the State of Hawaii, Office of Enterprise Technology Services.

“The W3 awards receive over 3,000 entries annually for this prestigious competition” said Rosie Warfield, Manager of eGovernment Services at NIC Hawaii. “It’s a tremendous honor to have our work recognized as a symbol of creative excellence on the web.”

This marks the third award to be received by the W3. In 2015, the site took home the top honor with a Gold Award and in 2013, Hawaii.gov was the recipient of another Silver Award.

The site was also recently awarded a Best in Class Interactive Media Award which brings a grand total of 20 awards received by Hawaii.gov since its launch in April 2013.
