Tyler Hawaii Wins Two DotCOMM Awards for Excellence in Government Digital Services

Gold Award for Explore Outdoors Hawaii and Honorable Mention for Hawaii Police Department Website Recognized Among 2,500+ International Entries

Tyler Hawaii, a leader in digital government services and payments, announced today that it was the winner of two DotCOMM Awards. The awards honor excellence in web creativity and digital communication. Both wins were honored specifically for excellence in Government.

Tyler Hawaii’s Explore Outdoors Hawaii website earned the competition’s highest honor with a Gold Award. Developed in collaboration with the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), the innovative platform serves as a comprehensive, user-friendly portal for residents, visitors, and commercial operators to find and apply for permits, licenses, and reservations across Hawaii’s vast natural resources.

The DLNR oversees nearly 1.3 million acres of state lands, beaches, and coastal waters, plus 750 miles of coastline—the fourth longest in the United States. Its jurisdiction includes state parks, historical sites, natural area reserves, forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, public fishing areas, and game management areas. Explore Outdoors Hawaii streamlines access to these diverse outdoor recreation opportunities through a single, intuitive digital platform.

Tyler Hawaii also received an Honorable Mention for the redesigned Hawaii Police Department website. Created in partnership with the Hawaii Police Department, this marked the site’s first major update since 2011. The new website enhances community engagement and provides Hawaii Island residents with easier access to vital services and information, including an events calendar, department history, crime prevention resources, and profiles of HPD’s K9 officers.

The dotCOMM Awards drew more than 2,500 entries from across the United States, Canada, and 16 additional countries. The competition is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), an international organization representing thousands of marketing, communication, advertising, PR, and media production professionals.
