MLK Day Beach Cleanup in Kahuku

Volunteering

A staggering 500 people came out to the James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge in Kahuku for the Martin Luther King Day Beach Cleanup organized by the Kokua Hawaii Foundation. Over 6,050 lbs of trash and debris were removed from the beach – 1,450 lbs of which was recycled with the Parley for the Oceans project.

Adopt A Family is a seasonal program administered by Helping Hands Hawaii during the holidays that links individuals and families in need with kind donors in the community. Participants are referred to the program through our large network of community partners, and donors participate by adopting a family and fulfilling their holiday wish lists.

Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk

State Launches New Online Workforce Tax Credit Application

13,100 Pounds of Marine Debris Removed from Kahuku

Wow!!! Check out these numbers posted by the Kokua Hawaii Foundation:

On September 16, 160 volunteers cleaned the Kahuku coastline at James Campbell National Wildlife Refuge, removing a staggering 13,100 lbs from the beach for International Coastal Cleanup Day. HIC will be in attendance at BOTH of the plastic free Hawaii cleanups on September 16th sponsored by the Kōkua Hawaii Foundation’s Plastic Free Hawaii Program for International Coastal Cleanup. The locations are:
