Hawaii State Public Library System Website Wins Silver Davey Award

The Hawaii State Public Library System has been nationally recognized as a winner in the 14th annual Davey Awards competition. This is the fifth award the site has received since its release in October 2016.

The Hawaii State Public Library System serves as a pillar of our island community helping to nurture a lifelong love of reading and learning through its physical and digital spaces. Averaging 80,000 visitors a month, the site is informative, user-friendly, and has something for people of all ages, needs, abilities, roles and interests. The site is more than just books — you can access quilt patterns, yearbooks, take free online classes, learn a new language or visit one of the 10,000 events and programs they put on each year. You can also apply for a passport or, if you are visually or physically impaired, apply for transcription services, talking books, braille offerings and even a radio reading service.

And it works across all platforms – with over 30% of visitors coming to the site from a mobile device or tablet. The website displays well no matter what device one chooses to visit from.

The Hawaii State Public Library System website was created in partnership with Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC, the official Internet portal manager of eHawaii.gov.
