Hawaii State Public Library System Website Wins Outstanding Website Award

The Hawaii State Public Library System has once again been nationally recognized as a winner by the Web Marketing Association with an Outstanding Website award. This marks the fourth award received in honor of the site since its release in October 2016.

But don’t take our word for it. According to the judges “This site was an ambitious undertaking and it delivered true to its mission statement for the site. What a robust and content-rich adventure. A library has to be all things to literally ALL people – all ages, needs, abilities, roles, interests, and it has to be informative, entertaining and solid. The site certainly accomplishes all of that. The user ease, usability and user interface are all impressive given the amount of content and number of audience types this entity must serve. Well done.”

In July, the Hawaii State Public Library System released an updated version of the site with enhancements derived directly from data analytics, heatmaps, and user feedback. Major changes included:

  • The creation of a quick links section on the home page for the most highly requested content
  • Integration with Niche Academy training videos so users can view tutorials for library related services

The website was created in partnership with Hawaii Information Consortium, the official Internet portal manager of eHawaii.gov.
