Adopt a Family 2017

This year HIC participated in our favorite event of the year – adopting families!

Adopt A Family is a seasonal program administered by Helping Hands Hawaii during the holidays that links individuals and families in need with kind donors in the community. Participants are referred to the program through our large network of community partners, and donors participate by adopting a family and fulfilling their holiday wish lists.

This year, HIC adopted 11 individuals – a family of 8 as well as a family of 3. We divvied up the members as a group and did our shopping – then met back up to wrap the gifts as a team. We finished in the nick of time, then loaded them in to the old 4WD sleigh, dropping them off just prior to the deadline.

Heartfelt thanks to all of the generous staff who participated, we really made a difference for our fellow friends and neighbors this season. Looking forward to 2018.
