Beach Cleanup Complete
On February 18th, 14 of us gathered along with roughly 100 other like minded individuals to do a day of beach cleanup at Bellows Air Force Beach. The event was sponsored by Sustainable Coastlines.
The cleanup lasted from 10 – noon and resulted in almost 1,300 POUNDS of garbage being removed from the beach. It was a fantastic success and the day finished with a catered lunch for the volunteers and raffle and prize giveaways. We hope to do this event again at a different beaches later in the year. If anyone is interested, you can view the 2012 monthly schedule for beach cleanups and go on your own. We’ll also post it on the wall outside Lindsey’s cube.
