Hawaii Adds e-File Feature to Insurance Certificate Submittal System
The Hawaii State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs (DCCA) Professional and Vocational License Division (PVL) added a new “e-File Upload” feature to the online Insurance Certificate Submittal System. This feature allows insurance agents to electronically submit contractor (CT) and pest control operator (PCO) general liability and workers compensation insurance certificate information online at pvl.ehawaii.gov/inikua.
The new “e-File upload” feature allows the following submissions:
- Submissions by insurers that are not licensed in Hawaii (also listed as “not an admitted insurer”)
- Workers compensation insurance provided by “leasing companies”
- Submissions for CT/PCO licensees that were previously terminated.
These types of submissions were not possible in the previous version of the system.
Insurance agents licensed in Hawaii should continue to use the original “Login” process. All agents will receive an email confirmation receipt for their online submission.
“We hope this new feature will help us reduce the processing time of all certificates received,” said PVL licensing administrator Celia Suzuki. “Receiving all submittals electronically should make the process more efficient.”
The updated online service was created through a partnership with PVL and the state’s website portal manager, Hawaii Information Consortium, LLC. The service is one of many online services for citizens and businesses offered through the state’s official website, www.ehawaii.gov.
